Uddrag: Vibrations generated by high aspects ratio electrodes are studied by the finite element method. It is found that the modes are combined of a surface wave and vibration in the electrodes. For increasing aspect ratio most of the mechanical energy is confined to the electrodes which act as mechanical resonators and slow down the velocity. It is furthermore found that the group delay can be increased compared to conventional thin electrodes. These results are interesting for filters and resonators as well as for delay lines.
